Currently I am in my last year of the program Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College. This program focuses on teaching budding entrepreneurs on how to successfully run and/or manage a small to medium business of their choice. My choice of business would be something related to working with dogs, whether it's dog grooming or pet photography, as I haven't yet decided on what my future business will be, I will continue to work with them for the rest of my life.
The reason I say continue is because for the past year and a half I've been working at an open concept boarding facility called Dogs at Camp. My experience there has taught me dog behaviour, dog body language, different facts about dogs and certain breeds, as well as first aid for pets. I also currently volunteer for the rescue organization Sit With Me rescue. Which focuses on giving dogs in high-kill shelters, which are unlikely to be adopted/about to be euthanized, a second chance by adopting them, putting them into a foster home and giving them the required vetting until a perfect home can be found.
Before Dogs at Camp I worked as a carpenter with the 93 Carpenters Union based out of Ottawa. During my time there I took the following courses: fall arrest, WHIMIS, first aid and CPR. Through them I worked for M. Sullivan and Son while building a solar farm in Beach burg, which gave me experience in the field of carpentry as well as solar energy technology.
In my down time I enjoy travelling, hiking, photography, woodworking, fishing, and jogging. The background photo was taken at Eagle's Nest in Calabogie which is a place I am very fond of a hiking to. I have travelled to various different places including: Jamaica, Sweden, the United States, and most of Canada. I lived in downtown Stockholm for a year, which was an amazing experience though I wish I had picked up more of the language as I only know a handful of words. A goal for me is to see as much of the world as possible during my lifetime, I grew up in the country and though I love it, I want to see all that the world has to offer.
