Robert Anthony

Rob is a nationally known and respected horticulturalist and turfgrass manager. He began his career by starting a design/build, landscape management company directly out of college, and won several top awards including grand champion at the state level in New Jersey against stiff competition among his peers. Always moving forward Rob has excelled in every aspect of the business from upscale private golf club to head groundskeeper of the Green Bay Packers, as well as developing turfgrass management programs for two top, nationally ranked, Division I Universities over a period of eight years. Rob is equally versed in both warm and cool season grasses and has been a featured speaker on the topic of turfgrass management and athletic field construction at numerous national field days and conferences. He has over 20 million dollars worth of athletic field construction project management experience. In 2008 Rob took his skills to the international level when he became the Director of Landscaping for Raffles Resort Canouan Island, a super exclusive, 5 star, number four in the world ranked hotel and resort chain, working and residing on a small, secluded Island in the Eastern Caribbean for two years. In 2009/10 he was the project manager/curator of the landscape and athletic fields for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis where he designed and implemented several landscape refurbishment projects and established all agronomic policies, selected vendors and chose the equipment for the landscape management of the entire campus. He is on the reader advisory board for Turfgrass Trends magazine, Athletic Turf and Technology magazine, and has written several articles for the latter as well as SportsTurf Magazine, and the highly respected international publication, Stadia Magazine. He also recently joined the EcoMowers.com team to assist them with editorial content on a variety of horticultural topics, and is the Washington DC Examiner.com Ornamental Horticulture writer. Rob is a member of the Sports Turf Managers Association, the Golf Course Superintendents of America Association and the National Turfgrass Evaluation Program, and holds several industry related certifications.
