Hi, I’m Rob. I’m an award-winning writer and photographer living in one of the globe's most mesmerising cities, Tokyo.

I have spent 20 years in Japan and I am a fluent Japanese speaker and an avid consumer of Japanese culture, both popular and historical.

Current interests currently include: cycling, running, tennis, the photography of Hiroshi Sugimoto, Japanese history, new world wines and Japanese sake. I travel a lot, mostly for work, but also for pleasure, and love to read, especially poetry and modern European literature. I am also interested in social and environmental issues and in March 2017 released my first book, Yoshida's Dilemma, about the Fukushima nuclear accident.
