Rob Newman was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and has family roots in England, Scotland and Ireland. After graduating from Auckland University with a degree in psychology in the 1980s, he developed a keen interest in gambling from a psychologist’s perspective. His research led him to write several books about gambling and he became even more interested in the subject. He is now one of the leading experts in the world on casino games. Rob is a keen climber and can be found on a steep rock face most weekends.
