Rob Snoek
Writer and Public Speaker in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada
Rob Snoek was a little late learning to walk after his left leg was amputated below the knee at the age of one. Soon after learning to walk, he learned to run and he's been running ever since.
He spent over a decade as a track and field athlete and his talent and dedication earned a place on Team Canada at three Paralympic Games. His successes included two World Championship medals and four Canadian records.
Rob studied broadcasting at Seneca College where he won an award as best journalism student. He has combined his on-field experience with on-air experience and become Canada's leading broadcast voice on Paralympic Sport working at every Paralympic Games from 2002-2018.
Furthermore, CBC Sports (and other networks) have entrusted him with play by play announcing of over 20 different sports from snowboarding, skiing and sledge hockey to beach volleyball, waterpolo, rugby and athletics. When Canada won its first medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, it was Rob Snoek's voice telling the story from the Rosa Khutor mountains.
Each weekday morning, Rob becomes the voice of the sports on CKDO Radio, KX96 & KX94.7
For 15 seasons, he was the radio messenger for Ontario Hockey League teams - the Peterborough Petes & Oshawa Generals.
Rob is a trained public speaker who has delivered educational and inspirational messages to over a thousand audiences.
Keep an eye and an ear out for Rob Snoek as he continues to pursue a "life in sport".
