For 16-years, I had a successful career within the publishing industry when suddenly, I was faced with a financial reversal. After nurturing and growing the email marketing services for over 10 years, the company restructured my department and moved my position to Chicago. I found myself out of work. After a few months of not finding good job matches, I began thinking about the stories I’ve read of women who started their own businesses due to similar circumstances and like some of them, I didn’t know where to begin.

I decided to take the advice of comedic legend, Milton Berle, who once said, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” In constructing my door, I’ve managed to eke out a burgeoning freelance email marketing business through LinkedIn and word of mouth by providing email campaign marketing services to small businesses in addition to content writing and editing projects.

Entrepreneurship snuck up on me because necessity was placed upon me; however, I am ready to embrace the nuances as well as the challenges that occurs with growing a freelance business! My services help small businesses with understanding email best practices; setting up an email calendar; gathering collateral material; maintaining subscriber lists; and training on email marketing platforms, which in the long run provides cost savings to business owners.
