Life delivers many opportunities both negative and positive. When I was seven years old, I was struck by lightning while hiking with my family. Although I was young when this happened, the experience taught me life long lessons about gratitude, perseverance, and courage. I was lucky to survive that day and it has taught me that life is a gift to be cherished and lived to the fullest. Since then I have learned to take advantage of every opportunity I have been given. This includes challenging myself academically with a strong educational curriculum in the Chancellor’s Honor Program at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I am majoring in Recreation and Sport Management with a Business Minor. To separate myself, I intend to keep my GPA above 3.5, do internships and practicum work, volunteer service, study abroad in Australia, and get as much experience in the field as possible.
