Growing up 100 yards from the Atlantic sensitized me to the complexity of natural sounds and inspired me to create. I wrote, I drew, I played music, and longed to integrate those impulses with my intellectual curiosity. After years in rock bands I returned to school and found awe-inspiring professors of music theory; there was the integration. Got my Masters in Composition under a Pulitzer Prize winning composer, but was drawn into the world of downtown NY choreographers by a former piano student. From there, the steps to dance/theater and then theater were short and quick. My career leapt like stones skipping across the surface of water as random opportunities arose and I resolved to take on every challenge. Coincidences led to my arranging and orchestrating the first production of Little Shop Of Horrors, which led to a string of off-Broadway musicals, and eventually the film version of Little Shop. That experience and my connection to Alan Menken resulted in Disney hiring me to oversee and arrange the music for The Little Mermaid, and the first season of the TV spinoff. Suddenly I had a reputation in the world of children's entertainment, and was offered the position of Music Director for Sesame Street, a job I held for 6 years, and which earned me 5 Emmie Nominations. From there I designed and created web radio stations for Nickelodeon Jr. Online, and became Sound Designer, Music Director, and principle composer for onemorestory.com, an award winning virtual library for early readers. I co-created, wrote and produced a pilot for Nick Jr., including all the music and lyrics. Currently I'm writing a musical and co-developing a unique restaurant/entertainment complex.
