I help people become great paddle boarders. Originally non-athletic and lacking good instruction, like many I struggled to stand on a SUP the first time. I continued to work with it and found a method of getting up and staying up which I love to share with others through my business Salmon Bay Paddle in Seattle. I work with all levels and offer SUP surfing classes on the beautiful empty Washington Coast, tidal rapids training in Deception Pass, multi-day tours in the San Juan Islands and freighter and tug wave surfing in Seattle. We're open all year.

When I began to SUP there were no lessons in my area or books on the subject, so I wrote one - 'Stand Up Paddling Flat Water to Rivers and Surf.' My second book is a revision of a classic Pacific Northwest paddling guide, titled 'Kayaking Puget Sound;' The book is actually a guide for all types of paddling and includes 60 places to explore and surf on Puget Sound.

Additionally, noticing a lack of solid and trustworthy SUP certification and training programs, I created my own, the PSUPA - Professional Stand Up Paddle Association.

Give me a holler if you have any questions or are in the Pacific Northwest! Thanks for reading. Cheers.
