Currently, I'm an entrepreneur and venture partner at Sparklabs Global, and my offices are in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently, I was the CTO of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, one of the largest and most influential architecture, interior design, engineering, and urban planning firms in the world. I've spent the last 20 years in the media, mobile, advertising, and computer graphics industries. My passion has always been about engaging humans with technology in a way that is meaningful.

My work at SOM was graciously discussed by TechExec magazine in 2021. https://www.stroudandclarke.com/magazine/tech-exec-magazine-issue-03/

This devotion to connecting people and technology was recently honored when I was named by EContent as one of the top 15 influencers in digital media.

In July 2012, I was invited to be part of SparkLabs, a new startup accelerator in Korea founded by Bernard Moon, Hanjoo Lee and James Kim, who's mission is to seek to fill the critical gap for Korea's entrepreneurs who seek connectivity, knowledge and mentorship as they work to expand into the U.S. and other locations across the globe.

I've been fortunate enough to be part of a number of successful startups, including NimbleCollective (sold to AWS in 2018), StudioNow, Discovery Digital (via sale of Revision3), Transpera, Third Screen Media (sold to AOL), m-Qube (sold to Verisign), ATG, and MediaRush. I am an also an advisor to a number of startups.

I started life as a scientist (computer science / physics / astronomy), and worked at NASA/JPL and MIT/Lincoln Laboratories (for the FAA) prior to getting the startup bug.

Please note that as of March 2018, I have removed myself permanently from Facebook and can no longer be reached through that mechanism.
