Robert DiMedio
Associate Principal and Educator in Haddon Township, New Jersey
Robert DiMedio is a dynamic administrator who believes in 21st century student driven instruction, and comes to Holy Cross with ten years of educational experience including five as a Dean of Students in the School District of Philadelphia.
2017 marks DiMedio's second year as an Associate Principal, where he looks to expand his leadership experience and provide his mission and vision of a 21st century student driven educational experience to Holy Cross. DiMedio has helped reinvent the identifying and recruitment process to help identify and hire the best teachers in South Jersey. DiMedio has also worked closely to develop both STEM initiatives with the Delran STEM ecosystem alliance which connects both schools and local STEM related businesses to identify best practices.
In 2013, DiMedio was hired at Benjamin Franklin High School as their Dean of Students and was made responsible for all school climate and safety operations. During this time Ben Franklin combined with University City and Robert Vaux High Schools during the Philadelphia schools merger. DiMedio was responsible for helping bring the communities together and operate as one school. He also during his tenure at Ben Franklin helped revive their once dormant AP program and coordinated funding and administration of the programs. He also taught night, and Saturday school, while earning his Masters in Athletic Administration from Ohio University, and was named the assistant athletic director.
DiMedio earned his first Dean of Students position at Communications High School under the tutelage of Saliyah Cruz, where he was a teacher for seven years. During that time DiMedio also taught AP Government, coached bowling and track, and was the football coach.
Under DiMedio the football team went a combined 16-6, won it's first city title, and became the first public league school to win a PIAA state playoff game. DiMedio also won five consecutive bowling division championships. He also was able to graduate from Cabrini's Master's of Educational Leadership program with distinguished recognition.
DiMedio and his wife, Katherine, have two children: Alexandra, and Stella.
