Building on the intercultural awareness obtained through an obligatory year abroad at the Université de Franche-Comté as part of a BA French degree at Swansea University, Robert Conniff has continued to hone his linguistic skills in the shape of a 3 month translation internship as part of an MA Translation with Language Technology degree, translating more than 80,000 words in a variety of domains in the process.

Throughout my studies, I have acquired valuable theoretical and practical experience in translation through Advanced French Translation, Terminology Management, Public Service Interpreting, Linguistics, Language Technology and the History of Translation modules. Furthermore, I have gained a deepened sensitivity towards Francophone culture due to having completed modules regarding the History of the French Language, French Cinema, African Literature, The Algerian War and France and the Second World War.
