Robert F. Moore
Robert Moore is currently the Deputy Superintendent of Finance & Operations for Oakland Schools in Michigan. Mr. Moore is highly respected as an expert in public schools finance, operations, and legislative affairs.
In July 2005, Robert Moore left his position as Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Detroit Public Schools to join the administrative team at Oakland Schools. In Detroit, Mr. Moore was responsible for facility maintenance, capital improvement program, contracting, real estate and urban planning, transportation, food service, security, print production, environmental health and safety, warehouse operations, financial functions, and state legislative affairs. His experience transferred smoothly to Oakland Schools, where he oversees Facility Operations, Financial Services, Government & Community Services, Legal Affairs, Regional Services, the Workforce Development operation, Community Programs and Special Projects, and Technology Services.
Prior to his tenure in Detroit, Mr. Moore served as Deputy Superintendent/Chief Financial Officer for the 35,000 student Colorado Springs School District 11 from 1992-2000, preceded by his position as Executive Director of Financial Services in the 18,000 student Pueblo School District #60 from 1988-1992.
Other Colorado work experiences include work as a production engineer and general foreman for the CF&I Steel Corporation from 1981-1988. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Division Officer on the USCGC Boutwell from 1974-1976, Commanding Officer on the Coast Guard Cutter Point Ledge from 1976-1978 and Senior Controller for the Rescue Coordination and Operating Center in San Francisco, CA from 1978-1981, where he managed and supervised Operations Center staff who coordinated search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, environmental/oil spill response and drug interdiction operations in the North Pacific.
Mr. Moore’s educational experience includes a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Colorado in 1988 and a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1974.
Mr. Moore has five children, and on October 6, 2010, he became a proud grandfather of Quinn Lyam Moore.
