I am Robert Gentil, a retired financial professional living in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating with honors from Harvard University, where I studied Economics, I moved to New York City and built a career in the stock and trading markets. Over several decades, I developed experience in market analysis, investment strategy and risk management. I became known for remaining calm under pressure, listening carefully and making thoughtful, measured decisions during uncertain times.

Retirement has given me more time to pursue the interests that have shaped my life. Astronomy is one of my greatest passions, and I enjoy observing planets, constellations and celestial events through my telescope. I am also an avid reader with interests in history, economics, science, biographies and classic literature. Gardening, classical music and walks through Richmond’s historic neighbourhoods are also important parts of my routine.

I believe curiosity, patience and lifelong learning are essential at every stage of life. I support financial literacy, astronomy education and historic preservation, often preferring to contribute without seeking recognition.
