Following a degree in maths I have been making a living in traditional building trades based in the historic village of Bournville, the rest of my time being dominated by my interests in science, philosophy, music and card magic.
Around four years ago, after a break, I rediscovered card magic and got involved in a relatively new playing card design and collecting culture. I quickly became an avid collector and interested in their history and design.
In 2012 I decided to combine my love for design and crafts with my new found interest in playing cards and set out to develop a brand and range of card related products.
Developing the company has been a journey full of new and wonderful experiences from working with brilliant designers and craftsmen to meeting many of my personal card magic idols. It has also been tough, having to work outside of full-time building work and has required developing many new skills, like generally learning to use a computer!
On 16th July my company's website went live and our first products are now available. There's lots of work to be done to make Deck Finesse a success but I am quite happy with what I've achieved so far, and with the feedback that I'm getting.
