Robert Bane

Robert Bane attended Manhattan's School of Visual Arts for three years before opening his own New York business as a jewelry designer. In 1977, he joined friends at Martin Lawrence Galleries in Los Angeles, where he worked for three years before opening Robert Bane Fine Art with his wife. The couple went on to own two galleries in Los Angeles, one on Melrose Avenue for a decade. The site became the company's publishing headquarters, as Robert Bane supplied galleries domestically and in Japan with artists' work for resale. The gallery later moved to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. An international fine-art dealer, Robert Bane partnered 10 years ago with Argentinian artist Fabian Perez to form Fabian Perez Art Publishing LLC.

Recognized worldwide, the artist studied martial and fine arts, resided in Italy for seven years and lived in Japan for one year, developing his eclectic, non-categorized style of painting figurative work and using bold, symbolic imagery. The United States Olympic Committee commissioned an official painting from Fabian Perez for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and The Latin Recording Academy selected him to create a painting to celebrate the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2010. The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles displays the original painting. The artist and Robert Bane also placed his work on all 24 ships of Princess Cruise Lines, Ltd. -- all Cunard Line ships -- and four P&O Cruises vessels.

Robert Bane and Fabian Perez travel the world attending and curating more than 175 one-man exhibitions. In their line of Fabian Perez coffee-table books. the third publication, due out in the Fall of 2012, traces the last 10 years of Perez's work. The partners also created an informative DVD, traveling with a videographer to capture the artist's international acclaim to demonstrate his appeal to collectors. Since opening his first gallery in 1983, Robert Bane has earned a reputation for his one-of-a-kind group and solo exhibitions of established artists, his business skills, and his gift for discovering talented new artists.
