Robert Block
Dr. Robert Block currently serves as owner and founder of Acuity Eye Physicians & Surgeons, P.C., located in Meriden, Connecticut. In 1983, he completed his undergraduate education at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he studied chemistry and nutrition. Seven years later, Dr. Block concluded his medical schooling at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel.
After obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Robert Block fulfilled his internship in 1991 at Montefiore Medical Center, located in the Bronx, New York. During his internship, he focused on internal medicine. In 1993 he completed residencies at Montefiore Medical Center in internal medicine and in 1996 at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in ophthalmology. Dr. Robert Block gained his board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds an active license to practice ophthalmology in the state of Connecticut. A noted physician, Dr. Robert Block is a member of several local and national organizations, including the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. He also holds membership in American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
As a testament to his excellent service as an ophthalmologist and surgeon, Dr. Robert Block won a first-prize award for Best Cataract Surgery from the American College of Eye Surgeons, as part of its Resident Video Surgery Competition. In his leisure time, Dr. Robert Block enjoys skiing, sailing, swimming, cycling, traveling, and cooking. Married with two children, he speaks English and Spanish fluently.
