Prior to the events of 2009 and '10, I never gave any thought to the ideas that one may get stronger through adversity and wiser through overcoming challenges. It never ocurred to me that leaving psychic pain behind is often a choice.

I would have dismissed such ideas as trite, empty and tragically simplistic 'personal power' infomercial blather.

That summary judgment is wrong, and Viktor Frankl was right. It really is within our power to choose our attitude. Wallow in despair or learn, evolve and live again.

I am so much more than the sum of my experiences. And so are you.

And, by the way, 2015 is so much better than 2009!
