Robert Finch is a leader with a diverse professional background that includes healthcare administration, government service, and human resources management. Over the years, he has gained extensive executive experience in the healthcare industry, focusing on organizational leadership, workforce development, and operational system improvements within large institutions.
Alongside his professional work, Finch has maintained a deep commitment to faith and ministry. His spiritual journey began at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stephens, Georgia, where he joined the congregation at the age of nine. In 1988, he was ordained as a deacon and served faithfully for many years, supporting the church and its members.
After moving to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1996, Finch continued his ministry involvement at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. His dedication to faith continued to grow, and in 2009, he accepted his call to preach the Gospel. During this period, he received mentorship from Rev. Abraham Mosley of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, who guided his ministry development.
Finch later served as an associate pastor under Rev. Mosley before accepting the call to lead Billups Grove Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia, on October 12, 2019. As a pastor, he focuses on preaching, mentorship, and strengthening the congregation's spiritual life while encouraging community outreach and service.
In the healthcare field, Finch served as Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Georgia. In this role, he oversaw several key areas, including recruitment, compensation, benefits administration, and employee relations. His leadership helped improve hiring processes and strengthen internal workplace programs.
He also served as Interim Executive Director of Mercy Health Center in Athens, Georgia, where he managed strategic planning, facilities oversight, and donor engagement. Earlier in his career, he worked as Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, where he introduced strategies that significantly reduced employee turnover.
