Robert Finnerty

Sports reporter and anchor Robert "Rob" Finnerty began his career as a freelance reporter for Sports Radio 850 WEEI in Boston, where he covered the 2007 summer baseball league in Cape Cod. In 2007, he was hired by ESPN Radio in Bristol, Connecticut, to act as a SportsCenter Anchor. He broadcast national sports news while recording sound-bites and commentary for daily programming. During this time, Robert Finnerty also became a full-time Sports Anchor with 850 WEEI and broadcast pre- and post-game coverage for the Boston Red Sox and interviewed professional athletes. He interviewed big names such as Tom Brady and Paul Pierce.

In 2007, Rob Finnerty became an Anchor with New England Cable News, where he covered breaking stories and gained valuable experience in investigative reporting as well as editing and writing. He also served as a reporter for the station's Sports Tonight show. Prior to launching his career in broadcasting, Robert Finnerty studied communications at Fairfield University in Connecticut, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. He went on to become a Sales Account Executive with Entercom Communications, finding great success in his endeavors to secure new business accounts and complete media and digital sales. Rob Finnerty also served on a Media and Public Affairs Team with Rasky Baerlin Strategic Communications, helping the firm with two major campaigns relating to the November elections in 2010.

Robert Finnerty supplements his career in broadcast through a variety of community service obligations. He volunteers at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston and the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville, Massachusetts. He belongs to the Membership Committee at the Boston College Club and the Young Leaders Committee at the American Ireland Fund. In his free time, Rob Finnerty enjoys running and maintains a membership with the Boston Sports Club. He also likes boating in Cape Cod and biking on trails in and around Boston.
