Robert Klinzmann

During the past few months I have served as the VP Finance of the GSS-V. During this time I had an opportunity to really come to understand more about the finances and expenses of the Society; more importantly, I have learned that the GSS-V will produce its best budgets if the VP Finance works collaboratively with the other members of the Executive, the GSS Council, and the general graduate student population. During my term I will make sure that the GSS-V attains financial stability without running a deficit. As VP Finance I will continue my work to create an atmosphere where every member of the Executive team and Council is informed and aware of financial implications of our decisions we make as the GSS.

Before I came to UBC I did my German Diplom (Master equivalent, with distinction) in Mathematics at the Berlin Institute of Technology in the Berlin Mathematical School. For three years I worked together with students, professors and staff in several institute and faculty committees to improve the quality of education and lives of students in Berlin. In September 2009, I joined the Mathematics Department of UBC as a PhD student.
