Robert Mollicone

For the 2014-15 season, Robert Mollicone serves on the music staffs of San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera, Utah Opera, and Opera San Jose, working on such productions as Showboat, La Cenerentola, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Turandot, Madama Butterfly, and Rigoletto. He is a graduate of San Francisco Opera's Adler Fellowship, and was also a Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist at Washington National Opera. He recently joined the faculty of San Francisco Conservatory of Music as vocal coach to the Opera Workshop. A commitment to the propagation of modern opera has led Mollicone to work recently on SFO's 25th anniversary production of Nixon in China, premiere productions of Moby Dick and Dolores Claiborne, as well as Love/Hate and The Secret Garden with San Francisco Opera Center. He will also participate in the workshop for Marco Tutino's La Ciocara in May. Equally at home on the concert stage, Mollicone performed this season as a part of the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Series and for SF Performances. His professional conducting debut took place at Opera in the Park 2013 with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.
