Robert Nolan has served in numerous capacities in business and the military over the past several decades. Mr. Nolan served as President and Chief Executive Officer of OmniTrade International, Inc., an international business firm based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. As head of OmniTrade International, Mr. Nolan brokered international contracts with shipping firms and fisheries in the United States, Norway, Morocco, Egypt, Ireland, and Iceland. During Mr. Nolan’s tenure, OmniTrade International was the only American seafood exporter working directly with the Egyptian government. In 2000, Robert Nolan was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Robert Nolan served his country in the United States Navy for 9 years. In 1988, Mr. Nolan was named Sailor of the Year during his 7 year tour aboard the country’s flagship aircraft carrier, USS America, CV-66. In recognition of this award, he was honored by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich in a ceremony in Washington, DC. Mr. Nolan was also given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at Shea Stadium in New York City for a New York Mets home game. Robert Nolan served in the Persian Gulf War and participated in air strikes on Libya in March and April 1988. When Mr. Nolan left the United States Navy in 1992, former President George H. W. Bush sent him a letter in recognition of his service.
