Roberto Ruiz Odessa TX

Odessa, Texas (TX), resident Dr. Roberto Ruiz began his medical career as a hospitalist for In Compass Health. Working at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX, he handled admission of inpatients and provided diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of acute illnesses, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease to skin infections. Also responsible for overseeing patients in the intensive care unit, Dr. Roberto Ruiz performed duties such as calibrating ventilators to match respiratory patients’ condition and managing the administration of medications, including antibiotics and vasopressors.

Currently, Dr. Ruiz works as a locums PRN hospitalist and emergency room (ER) physician for both Concord Medical Group and Emergency Staffing Solutions. In the ER at Medical Arts Hospital, he treats patients for potentially fatal conditions, such as cardiac arrest, car accident injuries, and blood infections. He also cares for ER patients with less severe ailments, ranging from kidney stones to sprains. Dr. Ruiz received an MD and completed a three-year internal medicine residency at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. In his free time, he enjoys restoring classic cars, playing chess, working out, and preparing sushi and other Japanese cuisine.
