I am a historian who's responsible for the Deep South History podcast, launched in August 2021.

Now and then I publish peer-reviewed research on the history of the Creek Indians. Nobody pays me to do it, but it's important to me.

I have done archival research in English, German, Spanish, and French. I'm gradually learning the Muskogee language of the Creeks and Seminoles, with advice and encouragement from native speakers.

I already speak all dialects of Apple and Windows, besides some Unix/GNU Linux.

My day job is at the FIPAR Center, an independent clinic that also teaches Tai Chi and other means to prevent fall injuries.

Technology and history are my third and fourth careers. I've also worked in publishing and public policy. It all fits together.
