As a director of operations for Econo-Pak, Robert Wiebel of Sparta, NJ, manages the daily functioning of two food-packaging facilities in Newton, New Jersey, and Milford, Pennsylvania. Responsible for a broad range of duties, he develops and budgets all new projects, oversees equipment maintenance, works with managers to implement process improvements, and supervises 450 employees between both locations. Robert Wiebel also directs quality assurance and sanitation programs at both sites and holds HACCP certification through Kraft Foods. He has also completed food defense awareness training with Comprehensive Food Safety, LLC.

With nearly a decade of experience in the packaging services sector, Mr. Wiebel previously handled logistics and inventory for North American Sterilization and Packaging. Based at the company’s medical device processing facility in Franklin, New Jersey, he also assisted with ethylene oxide sterilization of product shipments entering and leaving the site.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Robert Wiebel contributes to research initiatives committed to developing a cure for Tay-Sachs disease, a rare genetic disorder that begins to damage nerve cells in infancy and results in death by early childhood. Mr. Wiebel also supports organizations that provide services for people with intellectual disabilities. He has made contributions to SCARC, Inc., in New Jersey, and the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County in Pennsylvania.
