Robert Zerbst

As chairman of the board of Monterey Investment Management, Robert Zerbst maintains primary responsibility for the company's investment policies. He also serves as a director of Digital Realty Trust and maintains membership in organizations such as the World Affairs Council of Northern California and the Pension Real Estate Association.
Robert Zerbst launched his career in real estate education, teaching at the University of British Columbia and then at Southern Methodist University. Subsequently, he founded Piedmont Realty Advisors in San Francisco in 1981. A decade later, he merged the company with RREEF Funds and continued his investment work as a partner in RREEF.
In 1997, Mr. Zerbst became the CEO of CB Richard Ellis Investors, now CBRE Global Investors, and led international expansion efforts. He stepped down following more than a decade in that role, although he continued to serve as chairman of the board.
Throughout his career, he has supported the work of cultural and educational institutions such as the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the University of California, Berkeley.
