Hello. I'm Rob Farhat, a music programmer, manager, adviser, and artist mentor. You've stumbled upon my website so here's a bit about me, in case you're interested.

In January 2018 I joined the brilliant team at Serious – one of the UK's leading producers and promoters of jazz, contemporary, and traditional music – as their Talent Development and Programme Manager. I run their prestigious talent development programmes for emerging artists such as Take Five, work on special projects with boundary pushing artists like Gaika and Gazelle Twin, and contribute to their wider concert and festival programming including the EFG London Jazz Festival and Between The Lines.

I remain connected to the Irish music scene – advising artists I believe in and creating opportunities for them in the UK and beyond where possible. I also sit on the board of the Project Arts Centre, one of Ireland's most progressive and important theatre and art spaces, and am an advocate and campaigner for a more inclusive and equitable system of funding and supporting the arts in Ireland – particularly with regards to addressing structural racism, as outlined in this extensive article I wrote.

Previously I ran Ensemble Music, a music production company I co-founded with Rob Kearns in 2014. With Ensemble I managed, promoted and released records for exceptional Irish artists whose music crosses genre lines, such as Loah, Ensemble Ériu, Rusangano Family, and the late Conor Walsh.

I'm from Ireland, of Iranian/Armenian heritage, and I trained as a classical pianist, viola player, and conductor before taking early retirement as a musician and jumping behind the scenes. Now you know.
