Rob Finlay
Rob Finlay dedicates his time to business, commercial real estate, and professional race car driving. He heads a motorsport driver and race team management firm, Finlay Motorsports. In addition, Rob Finlay has personally competed on the race track for six years. He achieved early success, winning a podium finish in his first race in the Daytona International Speedway Grand-Am Cup competition. Rob Finlay finished his first year of racing with another first for his career behind the wheel: a Daytona Prototype start in Mexico City. Rob Finlay continued to demonstrate his prowess on the track when he raced in the Grand-Am Cup championship and competed in the Rolex Daytona Prototype series. He took several podiums as well, rounding out his 2006 season. He began his 2007 performance with a successful effort in the Daytona Prototype race at the Iowa Speedway, placing 2nd while driving with the Sabates/Ganassi racing team. This victory established Rob Finlay as a strong contender in the Trueman Trophy Championship race. In 2008, Rob Finlay raced at the Koni Challenge and returned to Daytona Prototypes. In addition, Rob Finlay tested on his favorite track, Virginia International Raceway, and also on the Daytona International Speedway, in an effort to prepare for the next season’s competitions. In 2009 as part of the Childress Howard Motorsports team, Rob Finlay finished the Rolex Daytona 24 Hour in 8th place and raced in the Crawford Performance factory-backed event. Rob Finlay also earned a commercial pilot’s license and now routinely flies helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Showing no signs of slowing down, Rob Finlay follows a rigorous personal training regimen including preparing for triathlon competition. A supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Rob Finlay has hosted children with serious illnesses in his capacity as a professional motorsport driver. He began the 2010 racing season at the Rolex 24 at Daytona as part of the Corsa Team PR1.
