Robin Landwehr

Dr. Robin J. Landwehr is a mental health counselor and social justice advocate who has decided to unleash her inner flower power to put posts on this blog that hopefully have value and meaning to others. Robin’s desire to take on this task originates from her years of education and experience serving people with a variety of needs.
If we have to get formal about it, Robin holds a doctoral degree in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Dakota and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She is also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Her career has brought her in close contact with many of society’s worst challenges; domestic and sexual violence, substance abuse, homelessness, child abuse and neglect, mental health disorders, and health concerns that are affected by our behaviors.
Now, let’s have a not-so-sterile description of your author. Robin loves human beings and cares about the issues that affect their lives. That is the reason she has focused her entire academic and professional careers in this direction. She discovered long ago the power of words and still marvels at how they can stir every human emotion possible. It is precisely this reason that she believes the written and spoken word can be one of the most powerful tools used for healing.
By now you may be saying to yourself, “This is all well and good, but which way does she lean?” Here are Robin’s answers to hot topic questions so readers can make an informed decision about whether they want to read any further. Let’s do this speed-dating style. Shall we?
Gay marriage – Oh Yeah
Gun control – Yes (not disarming, but responsible gun ownership)
Immigration – We need reform, but I am all for welcoming folks.
Legalize Marijuana – Uh, no dude. Surprised?
Liberal – Yes on most issues, moderate on some others.
Feminist – You betcha! As defined as the social, economic, and political equality of the sexes.
Over or under – Over for heaven’s sake
Religion – I’m all for it. In church. In homes. In hearts. Not in government, in doctor’s offices, or in bedrooms.
Texas – Some things really are bigger

Some of Robin's favorite things are music, traveling, and any kind of live stage performance.
