Robin Brooke
Native to Warkworth, New Zealand, Robin Brooke was an integral member of the New Zealand men’s national rugby union team throughout the 1990s. Robin Brooke attended Mahurangi College in Warkworth, where he set several school records for athletic events such as the discus throw and the shot put. In 1984, Robin Brooke earned a position on the national rugby team tour of the United Kingdom. He subsequently played for a few years in the club game before debuting with New Zealand’s national team, the All Blacks, on June 6, 1992. Over the next seven years, Robin Brooke gained wide recognition for his contributions to the team. His record includes participating in two Rugby World Cup competitions and achieving 62 caps with the All Blacks. Mr. Brooke played the lock position on the team, and together with Ian Jones, he is recognized for breaking the New Zealand record for lineout partnership appearances. Following his successful career as a professional rugby player, Robin Brooke developed a career as a business owner. Most recently, in 2010, he acquired ownership of New World Warkworth, a supermarket affiliated with Foodstuffs’ Auckland cooperative. His past experience includes owning and managing supermarkets located in Tauranga and Auckland, New Zealand.
