Robin Hennessy M.D.
A physician, photographer, and artist, Robin Hennessy, MD, currently assists patients by helping restore their skin to its former glow. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc., Dr. Hennessy maintained a private practice, Hennessy Aesthetic Surgery Center, in Charlotte, North Carolina, until 2003. An innovator of fat grafting in facial surgery in the 1990s and the first in her area to offer Dysport and Juvéderm injections, Robin Hennessy, MD, now specializes in non-surgical facial rejuvenation and skin care. After a thorough evaluation, she creates a custom program for every patient, personally administering each treatment.
While earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the State University of New York (SUNY) New Paltz, Robin Hennessy, MD, attended other top institutions around the world, including the University of Florence and the Sorbonne in Paris. She earned her medical degree at the Catholic University in Lille, France, and completed comprehensive postgraduate training, including an internship, two residencies, and a fellowship, at clinical campus of SUNY Stony Brook and the University of Virginia Hospital. Robin Hennessy, MD, completed research for her doctorate at the University of Minnesota, and she graduated from medical school summa cum laude.
At Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, Robin Hennessy, MD, completed both her internship and general surgical residencies, and she served as a Clinical Instructor in General Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook. She then moved south to the University of Virginia Hospital for a fellowship and residency in craniofacial microsurgery, plastic and aesthetic surgery, as well as hand surgery. She also provided clinical instruction in plastic surgery at the University of Virginia. Dr. Hennessy penned a chapter in the textbook Outcome After Head, Neck, and Spinal Trauma: A Medicolegal Guide.
A longtime supporter of shelters for women who have experienced domestic abuse and charities dedicated to improving the lives of children, Robin Hennessy, MD, is a retired Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a life member in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
