Desiree Robinson

As kids we grow up wanting to become firefighters, police officers, ballet dancers, and football players but for me my love for music and the passion for helping others has led me to pursue my dream as a future nurse in the medical field.

Growing up in a small town of Monroe, North Carolina taught me the importance of education and that having an education could assist me in becoming sucessful. I have learned that the power of an education brings wealth, wisdom, proficiency and intelligence; which brings me to furthering my education at North Carolina Central University. I am a junior seeking a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. I inspire to become a future registered nurse and radiologist technician. My goals are to acquire my dream job at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland once I obtain my degree in nursing.

I love the passion that I get when helping people in every aspect that I can. My focus as an aspiring registered nurse and radiologist is to make a difference in future patient’s lives that I come in contact with, and do everything within my power to help better the livelihood of my future patients.

Enclosing, John Dewey said is best that: “Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself.” This is the one quote that as stuck with me through my journey in undergrad. It will forever stay planted in my mindset that education is the key for a better tomorrow and success in the future!
