I'm working as Managing Diretor of Skout -- the mobile way twenty-somethings flirt. The founders are engineers in that demographic. Best known as the founder of Parenting Magazine and subject of a Harvard Business School case study about that launch (I subsequently sold the magazine to Time Warner, after which I ran magazine development and Sunset Publishing for them). After leaving Time Warner I joined the founders of CNET on the executive team that led the company to profitability ... twice. I am also the author of Naked in the Boardroom: A CEO Bares Her Secrets So You Can Transform Your Career (Simon & Schuster, 2005). I founded TeeBeeDee, a social network for people over 40, in 2006; it turns out that Facebook worked just fine, and TBD folded in 2009. My other notable startups, my son and daughter, are thriving. Category killers, both of them.
