Robin Yeganeh
Based in San Ramon, California, Robin Yeganeh, PhD, serves residents of Contra Costa County and the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently works at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy & Mindfulness Center at the Bishop Ranch Business Park, a private practice that he founded in 2007. Dr. Yeganeh provides treatment for adolescents, adults, and children for conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and the related spectrum and anxiety disorders such as panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. In addition, Dr. Yeganeh trains in coping strategies for issues such as pain and weight management, public speaking phobias, and the reduction of overall stress. He also has an interest in work with organizations such as businesses and nonprofits to establish strong employee wellness programs that reduce work stress, improve time management skills, and reduce these organizations’ expenses in the long term.
At the Cognitive Behavior Therapy & Mindfulness Center, Dr. Robin Yeganeh uses unique, yet scientifically proven therapies to treat these conditions and enhance overall health. Dr. Yeganeh primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an action-oriented therapy aimed at helping patients to become aware of harmful thoughts and behaviors, as well as changing them to alleviate emotional and psychological problems. CBT works by increasing positive life functions and creating positive goals, with Dr. Robin Yeganeh utilizing information from the patients throughout the treatment process to quickly identify and adjust to their situations.
In addition, Dr. Robin Yeganeh treats patients with therapies based on mindfulness. A meditation based concept considered as one of the core factors of many Eastern Philosophies, mindfulness enhances awareness of emotions and thoughts as they happen, seeing reality as it exists and accepting individual experiences. Offered as as a complement to CBT, he uses mindfulness training to help patients increase their ability to shift attention intentionally rather than allowing emotion to determine focus. The result is creating an objective perspective of experience and increasing awareness, to help patients live in the present rather than dwelling on the past or dreading future.
Dr. Robin Yeganeh builds his therapies based on years of research and experience, primarily at the Maryland Center of Anxiety Disorders; the University of California, San Diego; and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs San Diego
