I'm an independent consultant based in Cambridge, England.

The last six years I've been researching philanthropy in Asia as a visiting fellow at NUS Business School in Singapore - looking at innovation in philanthropy, giving circles, angel investing for impact and new models of corporate giving.

Before this I helped build two philanthropy networks from scratch - EVPA in Europe and AVPN in Asia. I studied and wrote about venture philanthropy when a visiting fellow at the Skoll Centre in Oxford.

I spent 15 years in international development and microcredit, mostly in refugee communities. And if you go back far enough you'll find an academic research chemist who worked at the universities of Oxford, Purdue, Lausanne and Addis Ababa.
