Robert J. Pressel is a senior B.A./M.A. duel degree candidate in Boston University's Political Science Department. He currently serves as a Research Assistant, spending a great deal of his time focused on the "science" aspect of politics gaining a deeper understanding of the political machine.

More specifically, Rob focused on project development, data collection, and data analysis. By understanding the analytics behind what drives popular political opinion, he hopes to facilitate a future career in which he is able to focus on formulating and passing law, rather than the actual creation of law.

In this capacity, Rob Pressel has been able to aid Stephen Timms as an intern to the U.K. Parliament in London. Here, he was able to research and draft policy/legislative briefs in addition to writing press releases and managing social media content. As a result of this, Rob was able to gain a new perspective on, and appreciation for, the United States political arena.

Despite Rob's involvement in campaigning, he truly desires to work in the electoral process. In his free-time, Rob thoroughly enjoys science fiction and comparing the parallels between intergalactic politics and contemporary western government. Often, these fictional novels provide unique insight into reality and allow us to better understand our own political process, the players in that process, and their respective motives in today's world.

Now, Rob has the good fortune to work at MIT as a research support associate. In this capacity, he coordinates the class and research-related needs of four different professors.
