Robert D. Tucker

I have taken advantage of every opportunity as Dean of Students, at Indian Trial Junior High School, to broaden my leadership skills and I am ready to challenge myself beyond my current role. As an administrator in your district, I will assist in the overall leadership of an individual school or the district by utilizing my experiences and skills in curriculum development, school leadership, staff supervision and evaluation, professional development, instructional leadership, and event management among others. My strong character traits give me the potential to be an effective administrator, as demonstrated in my role as Dean of Students. I have a strong work ethic, going above and beyond on any task. When an idea does not work, I have the ability to adapt and modify to meet the needs of the situation. Additionally, everyone encounters adversity at some point in their life, but what is more important is how one handles them. Through life’s adversity’s, I have learned perseverance and know that if a situation arises I can stay calm, process all the information, and make a quick and concise decision. My strong character traits have directly contributed to my role as an effective school leader and will continue as an administrator in a different role where i can untilize more skills in a different capacity. As well as my responsibilities as Dean of Students, I have been extensively involved within many other aspects of my previous school. My involvement includes the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports Universal Committee, Student Learner Profile Committee, Physical Education Department, Science Department, Academic Interventions, School Safety and Security, Athletic Director, and various student organizations. At district level, I have been involved with District Discipline Committee, District Science Committee, District Physical Education Committee, District Safety/Crisis Committee, and as a district ALiCE Trainer. Currently I am leading the district physical education teachers and middle school science department through adopting, unpacking, and developing a revised curriculum aligned to their respective standards. In addition to school leadership experiences, I have served in many other leadership capacities such as educational union leadership
