Robyn Pennington

Writer and account executive in San Francisco, California

Hi there, I’m Robyn. I've been reading above my age level since I was 8 years old. Around that same age, I began writing my own adventures and put my imagination to paper. Sports have been my passion for as long as I can remember, from cheering on my older brother to being a participant and now an adult spectator.

In 2008, I was blessed to work at a local community radio station in Santa Barbara called KCSB. There, I learned the ins and outs of radio journalism and covered such stories as the Dalai Lama's visit to campus, student protests of rising fees, and a Los Angeles-based artist's depiction of pit bull dogs.

In 2015, I studied broadcasting and AP style print journalism at Pierce College. While attending school, I joined KPCRadio.com and eventually was promoted to Assistant Programming Director. Part of my duties included training broadcasting students, producing student-generated content, and I even looked at sourcing new ways to promote the station.

I've been blogging about hockey since 2013 and joined Jewels from the Crown as a staff writer in 2014. Since then, I have been a credentialed media member covering the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League and most recently, I wrote about the 2017 NHL All Star Game, an event that drew more than 70,000 visitors to downtown Los Angeles.
