Rocco Basile

With over two decades in the construction and real estate development industries, Rocco Basile leveraged his experience as manager of Basile Builders Group, from 1996 to 2009, to found Avo Construction in 2010.
Avo Construction, located in Tribeca, is a full-service construction, general contracting and management firm specializing in both ground-up construction of residential and commercial buildings and high-end interior renovations. Rocco Basile and Avo Construction are well-known for working with renowned New York-based architects and designers.
Community engagement is also of paramount importance to Basile. As a staunch supporter of Children of the City, Rocco held a chairperson position for the organization and has been honored for his participation with awards in 2007, 2008 and 2010. Mr. Basile, in conjunction with the Joe DiMaggio Committee at Xaverian High School, has raised funds for students with learning and developmental disabilities. Basile has also supported ComALERT, an organization which seeks to help ex-convicts re-adjust to society, both professionally and personally, and Safe Horizon, the most expansive assistance agency for domestic violence victims.
In 2008, Basile was recognized by his alma mater for his professional and altruistic endeavors. Basile received the highest honor, the Xaverian St. Francis Award; he is currently recognized in Xaverian’s Bernard McQuillan Distinguished Honoree Hall of Fame. Rocco Basile was also honored by the legislative body of the New York State Senate, in 2011, receiving the Man of the Year Award. The State Senate spoke of his “diligent leadership in his unwavering service to his community and profession [and his] Devotion [of] countless hours and boundless energy to the mission of educating underprivileged children in the area of Southwest Brooklyn.”
Basile graduated from the Xaverian High School and the Leonard N. Stern School of Accounting at New York University with a degree in Accounting and Finance.
