A dynamic integration of academic excellence and proactive leadership marked Rocco DeLorenzo's educational journey at Cornell University. He graduated with dual majors from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, focusing on Food Science with a business slant and Applied Economics and Management with a specialization in strategy and food industry management. This comprehensive education equipped him with critical insights into both the scientific and business elements of the food industry.

At Cornell, Rocco was actively involved in the Chi Psi Fraternity, where he quickly rose to leadership positions, notably serving as Risk Manager and Academic Chair. In these roles, he initiated and implemented significant safety and educational programs that profoundly improved the fraternity's operations and contributed to a safer, more inclusive community environment.

His leadership extended across the Cornell fraternity system as VP of Membership and Alumni Development on the Interfraternity Council (IFC) Executive Board. Rocco spearheaded the development of a Hazing Prevention Training program that was adopted across fraternity chapters, significantly enhancing the safety protocols and cultural norms within the fraternity community.

Rocco also demonstrated exceptional crisis management skills during a health crisis in the fraternity community by organizing comprehensive Narcan Training after a drug overdose incident. This initiative not only addressed immediate safety concerns but also set a new standard for emergency preparedness within the IFC.

Following serious allegations of sexual misconduct within the fraternity system, Rocco led a decisive response that included suspending fraternity social activities and developing a comprehensive Sexual Violence Prevention plan. His efforts were pivotal in addressing the immediate issues and promoting a culture of respect and accountability.

Beyond his fraternity roles, Rocco served as the Vice President of Finance for the Cornell Student Assembly, where he was responsible for overseeing the student activity fees. He introduced the "Student Activity Fee Price Index," a novel approach that allowed for data-driven adjustments to fees in response to economic fluctuations, ensuring sustainable funding for student organizations.
