In May, 2014 I am moving back to my home state of Washington. I’ve been away longer than I lived there but have felt the draw to return for most of my adult life. Having lived in St Louis, Chicago, Edinburgh and Phoenix, a recent life change gave me the perfect opportunity to move back. But just move? Yawn! Heck no! I’m taking this opportunity to spend 14 days driving up Highway 1. I’ll hit many things right on the coast (Channel Islands, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Big Sur, the Flattery Trail). I’m also planning some trips inland, in particular to see Yosemite and Crater Lake. Pre-trip I’ll post some of my planning antics. I may or may not spare you my intricate spreadsheets… During the trip I hope to post daily with pictures and stories of the sites, sounds, smells and tastes of the trip.
