William Rochon

Aspiring Finance major with interests in investing, automobiles, the outdoors and travelling. During my fall semester of junior year, I studied abroad in London. I was able to gain valuable international work experience and travel around Europe. I was able to visit Italy, Spain, Scotland, and Poland. I actually took my background photo while visiting Stonehenge! While in London I visited all of the popular attractions, went to a football match, attended a theater show, and met amazing people. I was able to see the beautiful architecture at the Piazza del Duomo in Florence, have a drink of Scotch Whiskey in Edinburgh, feel the eerie presence while walking through Auchwitz death camp, and go in the water off the Barcelona coast. Each of these experiences were special in their own way and I am fortunate to have had them all.

I also enjoy travelling around the United States. With family and friends I have visited all of the states in Northeast. Along the way I have stopped at many attractions and sites. The most interesting being the Football and Baseball Hall of Fame's, Gettysburg battlefields from the Civil War, and the great outdoors of the northern New England states.

I also have a passion for investing and automobiles. I am always eager to learn more about the market and become familiar with trends. Automobiles have always interested me and I love to read just about any article related to them. I often attend autoshows and take any opportunity to drive an exciting and interesting vehicle.

While in London, I interned with the accounting department of Intercontinental Hotel Group. At Umass, I work as a bus driver and radio operator for the campus transit services.
These jobs have been very different from each other but both require a high level of responsibility and the need to learn and adapt quickly to new information.

In the future I plan to have a job where I am able to be a part an international organization with the ability to travel for work. I aspire to someday work in the finance department of an auto manufacturer.
