Rocio Martinez

I am currently a senior at Bentley University majoring in Global Studies and Business studies with a concentration on Information, Design & Corporate Communication.

I have had the opportunity to live, work, and study in five different countries; which has helped me develop excellent communication skills and gain experience working with international teams and diverse communities. I have also developed a broad perspective concerning diversity, based largely on my own experiences adapting to different cultures, while at the same time working to retain my own cultural and professional values and identity.

Working for prestigious organizations in Boston, in some cases as the only intern, required me to work independently, as well as in teams. My work experiences, specially working at law-firms and in Finance, taught me how to work in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment; there are constantly tight deadlines to be met, things to be done immediately, and everyone plays an important role in the process. I learned quickly the importance of being proactive, detail-oriented, and efficient. I learned to be competent in stressful and unexpected situations, which strengthened my problem-solving skills. This mindset and previous work and educational experiences have driven my career choice, to work in a job that combines aspects of international affairs, global development, and business strategies.
