Rockelle Ruiter
I'm a small town girl who likes to visit the big city. I've been married for nearly 20 years to my high school sweetheart, and we have 3 beautiful children. In my youngest daughter's birthplace in rural Ethiopia I saw children whose parents were unable to feed them. Even after experiencing it, I cannot fathom the choice those parents make--keep their children and watch them starve or relinquish them to strangers so that they may live. So let me use the words of Helen Keller:
I am only one, but still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still I can do something;
and because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something I can do.
This I can do...I am one of 1000.
