I'm currently a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Isenberg School of Management and the College of Natural Sciences, pursuing a dual degree in marketing and psychology. One of my favorite activities at UMass is being an active member of the UMass Cheerleading team. Cheerleading has provided me with a sense of community at a large university like UMass and has provided me the foundation to improve my communication and marketing skills to pursue a career in marketing after graduation.

As a committed member of the UMass cheerleading team, I have the opportunity to market UMass athletics while cheering on the UMass football team at Gillette Stadium and the men’s and women’s basketball teams at the Mullins Center. As cheerleaders we want our fans to be entertained as well as dedicated to cheering on their sports teams. The cheerleading team has also had the privilege of participating in events and fundraisers for the university and other great causes.

Most significant, my passion for cheerleading is not only applied on the mat or during games, but it’s a skill set that I am able to utilize for schoolwork, extra-curricular activities, and my job. This past summer I was hired by RCN for a marketing internship near Boston. Throughout the course of the internship I completed many tasks, which involved coordinating events, interacting with people, and cr
