Rodney Ballenden

I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1947.
My schooling was great, not the pass marks, but the experience.
Suddenly it was all over and I leapt into the unknown to travel extensively through Europe, the United Sates of America and Greece.

I married Colleen and settled on her family farm in the Magoebaskloof district of South Africa. But….the call of the wild drew me into the wilderness.

I chose a hermit existence exposed to the vagaries of storm- wind- and wild animals. The joy of reality and myth, the lore of the ancient worlds and the drama of life drove me to write.

The four book series, Son of Xanos is the result.
