Rodney Longoria
Poet, Writer, and Chef in Tucson, Arizona
I am Texas born and bred. There is nothing half-way about me. You will never have to wonder if I like you or not, if I am upset or not, if I approve or not. You will know. Some folks find that hard to hang with, others wouldn't have it any other way.
I moved to scenic Arizona some years ago to enjoy a better quality of life and escaping that mad rat race that I was living in. If anything, this move re-inspired my passion for food in creating for my own well-being as well as serving the public as a restaurant manager. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing a guest left happy while exceeding well beyond their expectations.
I'm a poet/writer, Vietnam veteran, humanist, an animal rights activist and a Stage 4 colon and liver cancer warrior since this battle started in 2014. Trust me — I've been through a lot worse. And mostly because of that, I maintain an optimistic attitude and a morbid sense of humor, which I believe is key for any kind of life in a society that I would care to live in. I also enjoy the great outdoors, travel and new experiences with interesting people.
Namasté!
