Rodney Oakes

Hi, I’m Rodney. I’m a student attending Clark Atlanta University majoring in Journalism. My experience as a writer and interest in journalism began at the age of 14. I was creating blog pages based on Youtubers and influencers across social media gaining followers and people interested in my work. As my experience grew, I began to learn more in the field of writing. My current occupation as of now, is a Social Media Blogger for a network by the name of “The Zeus Network”. Specializing in great research skills, consistency, and writing. It's my job to provide people with updated news, gossip, and show releases from the network. I worked with some of the biggest names and talents from the network, like Chrisean Rock, Natalie Nunn, Joseline Hernandez, and many more. Promoting their television shows, music, and businesses. My current blog resides on the social media app, “ Instagram”. Being followed by over 230K people across the platform, with a reach of 3.3 Million people and with a total of 38 Million impressions within a month. That is all from 1 year of the blog being made. I do plan on extending my success of being a journalist/social media blogger in the hopes of the future of one day me being able to have and own a media company hiring young black writers, editors and etc in the media field.
