Rodrigo de Marcos

Hello, I'm Rodrigo, Industrial Engineer and doctor in Power Systems from ICAI. Throughout my Ph.D. I have been also working as a consultant at the Institute for research in Technology (IIT) from the Comillas Pontifical University (Madrid). More specifically, I have worked on projects related to Electricity Markets and Risk Management using Decision Support Systems with data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Excel VBA and R.

Once I finished my Ph.D., I have moved to the Industry sector and I am now working as an energy consultant at Simulyde, which has enabled me to be engaged in several challenging projects while making the most of the knowledge I have collected throughout my degrees and Ph.D.

At both the IIT and Simulyde I have been working in teams where I have been able to add value with the skills that define myself in the professional environment. Apart from the analytic and abstraction capabilities that are common among engineers, I have been able to get the most out of mathematical and data analysis programming tools to carry out my duties both as a consultant and a PhD student. Furthermore, I always like to question the current state of things as well as propose or discuss any potential improvements. I also love to learn skills that I deem interesting by myself such as web scraping.

Moreover, thanks to my English language skills, I am also an English to Spanish freelance translator at BLEND Localization.
